Again, we are looking at who and how the creature becomes who he is. While reading chapters 7 and 8, you must:
1. list all the allusions to other texts (italicized titles)
2. research two-three of them and figure out what the creature could have/might have learned from them
a. Write the title of the text
b. identify in three or four sentences what this book is about
c. search other sites to see what more you can learn about that text
d. identify in a few sentences what the creature could learn from each text he reads
3. What is human nature? From whom does the creature learn human nature? Give examples of what he has learned about human nature from his observations?
4. Describe the creature from creation to the end of chapter 8. How and why does he become who he becomes?
5. List the imagery of nature again. How do the descriptions parallel what happens to the creature? Cite three-four instances.

ReplyDeleteI don't exactly know what we are supposed to do with these questions. I thought we were supposed to answer all the questions for each chapter. For one of the questions, however, it talks specifically about chapter 8. Are we supposed to answer all questions for both chapters or are we supposed to answer certain questions for the chapters? Thank you ahead of time to anyone who responds.
ReplyDeleteMona i really don't think that its possible to answer it with each chapter so..... i think that it's for both chapters at once
ReplyDeletebut I'm not sure
1. Summarize and come up with questions for each page.
ReplyDelete2. You answer the questions on the top for ALL the chapters, NOT for each chapter.
MONA~
ReplyDeleteFor the question that was specifically stating for chapter 8, you can just answer that questions, and don't include things about chapter 7.
Do we have to write summary sentences??
ReplyDeleteWe do not have to do the summary questions. Karvunis told us in class that if she did not post on the blog to do the summary questions, you do not have to.

ReplyDeleteLaura: I'm sure we don't need to do summary sentences.
ReplyDeleteI don't think we answer these questions for two seperate chapters.
ReplyDeleteI think it's just one set of questions for the two chapters.
This is because the last assignment, she specifically wrote "for EACH chapter".

ReplyDeleteI agree shelly due to the fact that the italicised books are omly to be found in chapter seven, so yes it should only be one set of questions for two chapters.
I don't get number 1. list all the allusions to other texts (italicized titles), and number 2 letter a. Write the title of the text. What italicized titles?
ReplyDeleteohhh i get it now.
ReplyDeleteFor question number one, we are just writing down the title of the works and nothing else, right?
ReplyDeletePei Qing- Yes, just write the titles.
