For the second question, why does the author describe Elizabeth like that?
ReplyDeleteI believe that it is to show that the mother felt as though it was fate to meet Elizabeth and she was sent from God.

For this homework, are we suppose to write the summaries, questions we have, words we don't know, and answer those questions? I am not very sure for what to do in this assignment.

ReplyDeleteOn page 42, Elizabeth's mother died giving birth. This was a connection to Mary Shelley's life. I found out that her mother died 11 days later after giving birth to her because of puerperal fever(http://people.brandeis.edu/~teuber/shelleybio.html). Puerperal fever is a fever that leads to rapid heartbeat, uterine tenderness, and malodorous discharge; this occurs after childbirth. (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/puerperal+fever).
